Concrete Benches for Parks and Public Spaces

Streetscape manufactures seven precast concrete bench designs at our Cape Town factory and delivers across South Africa. The range covers the Classic, Arch, Bridge, Slimline, Company Gardens, D Quad and Tri Seat models, in both timber-slatted and all-concrete finishes.

Concrete benches are the standard choice for public seating because they cannot be moved or carried off, they need almost no maintenance, and they last outdoors for decades without rotting, rusting or warping. Timber-slatted designs give a warmer seat in direct sun, while the all-concrete models are the most durable where vandalism is a concern.

Every bench is cast to order. Browse the designs below, or tell us about your site and we will come back with sizes, finishes, pricing and delivery.

What concrete benches does Streetscape make?

Streetscape casts seven concrete bench designs at its Cape Town factory: the Classic Seat, Slimline, Arch Seat, Bridge Seat, D Quad, Tri Seat All and Company Gardens. All are delivered across South Africa, and the range includes both backless designs and designs with a backrest.

How heavy is a concrete bench?

Heavy by design. The Bridge Seat Concrete Bench weighs around 240kg, which means it stays where it is placed without being bolted or chained down. That suits unsupervised public spaces where lighter furniture tends to get moved or taken. Individual weights are listed on each product page.

What is the seat height?

Every Streetscape concrete bench has a seat height of 450mm above ground, which is the standard for public seating and comfortable for most adults. Backless designs finish at that height. Designs with a backrest, such as the Classic Seat and Arch Seat, run to between 650mm and 750mm overall.

How long are the benches?

From 1500mm to 2400mm. The D Quad is 1500mm, which suits tighter spaces. The Classic Seat, Slimline, Arch Seat, Bridge Seat and Tri Seat All are all 1800mm. The Company Gardens bench is 2400mm, the longest in the range. Full dimensions are on each product page.

Why choose concrete over a steel or timber bench?

Weight and lifespan. A concrete bench is difficult to move, steal or vandalise, and it does not rust or rot outdoors. Steel and timber are lighter and easier to install, but need more maintenance and are easier to remove. Streetscape manufactures steel benches as well.

What does a concrete bench cost?

Prices depend on the design, the quantity ordered and where the benches are delivered, so Streetscape quotes per project rather than publishing a list. Send the design, number of units and site location to the office for a quote, or ask for the catalogue.
